Enterprise connectivity

Connectivity engineered around risk, applications and location

We compare the carriers and access technologies suited to each site. Then we design capacity, diversity, failover and service levels around what an outage would mean for your business.

Access options we compare

  • Enterprise fibre
  • NBN Enterprise Ethernet
  • Business NBN
  • Fixed wireless
  • 4G and 5G
  • Satellite

Access portfolio

A portfolio of access options

The available mix may include enterprise fibre, NBN Enterprise Ethernet, business NBN, fixed wireless, 4G or 5G, satellite, private interconnects and data-centre cross-connects. We match each site to the options that fit its role, rather than one access type for every location.

  • Enterprise fibre

Higher-assurance fibre access for important sites, where the address and build allow.

  • NBN Enterprise Ethernet

Business-grade NBN access with enterprise support options, subject to eligibility.

  • Business NBN

Shared access suited to smaller or less critical sites where best-effort restoration is acceptable.

  • Fixed wireless

An alternative where fixed lines are limited, or a diverse path for a second service.

  • 4G or 5G

Primary, backup or temporary access, subject to coverage and equipment at the site.

  • Satellite

Pathways for remote locations where terrestrial options are unavailable or limited.

  • Private interconnects

Private connections between sites and to approved cloud or data-centre environments.

  • Data-centre cross-connects

Direct connections inside eligible data-centre facilities.

The orderable options depend on address, carrier footprint, access build, lead time, capacity and commercial approval.

Site design

Design each site by criticality and demand

The business impact of an outage decides how much assurance a site needs. Its applications and traffic decide how much capacity it needs. We size both before comparing products.

Criticality tiers

Choose a tier to see how the design changes as the business impact of an outage grows.

General operations where best-effort restoration and a documented manual workaround are acceptable.

  • Single access service
  • Best-effort restoration
  • Documented workaround

Tiers are advisory design guides. They are not carrier product names or contracted service levels.

Capacity and performance

We do not call a service suitable for an application until we understand the full end-to-end path.

We size capacity from

  • Application flows
  • Concurrent demand
  • Cloud paths
  • Voice and video
  • Backup windows
  • Large transfers
  • Growth

We specify separately

  • Committed bandwidth and best-effort performance
  • Burst capability
  • Latency and upload requirements

Diversity and failover

A second service is only useful if it fails differently

We check your primary and secondary services for shared risk across carrier, building entry, access path where disclosed, upstream network, customer equipment and power. Then we set which traffic fails over, define how the site runs at reduced capacity and test the return to the primary service.

  • Building entry and access pathSeparate services can still share ducts, pits or a single entry point.
  • Upstream networkDifferent carriers can depend on the same exchange or upstream infrastructure.
  • Customer equipment and powerA single router, switch or power circuit can defeat a second link.
  • Residual shared riskAnything that cannot be separated is recorded in the design, not hidden.

Illustrative only. Two connections are not automatically diverse, so carrier, path, exchange, power and equipment dependencies are validated for each site and failover is tested.

Availability, restoration and support

Four separate terms, stated for each site

Availability targets up to 99.95 percent and enhanced restoration options are available on eligible enterprise services. Actual standards depend on carrier, access, location and contract.

These figures are not universal. The proposal states the exact contracted service, measurement method, exclusions, support window, fault process and service-credit mechanism for each site.

  • Availability

Service performance over a defined period. Check the target, measurement scope and exclusions.

  • Restoration

How quickly faults are recovered. Check the target, clock, coverage hours and location class.

  • Support

How incidents are received and escalated. Check hours, channels and the severity model.

  • Service credits

The contractual remedy when a target is missed. Check eligibility and the claim process.

Migration and acceptance

Changeover that is planned, tested and accepted

Every cutover has a plan, a test and a way back. The new service is accepted only when it passes checks agreed in advance.

  1. 01

    Plan

Lead times, site access, equipment, IP addressing, routing and security dependencies.

  2. 02

    Prepare

Carrier demarcation, agreed change windows and a rollback plan for each site.

  3. 03

    Cut over and test

Reachability, capacity where testable, routing and failover, checked on the day.

  4. 04

    Accept and hand over

Monitoring, documentation and operational handover confirmed before sign-off.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Straight answers about carriers, diversity, service levels and lead times.

Which carrier has the best enterprise network?

It depends. No one carrier is right for every site or requirement. Compare footprint, access, capacity, diversity, service level, support, lead time and commercial fit at your actual locations.

Is 99.95 percent availability the same as four-hour restoration?

No. Availability measures service performance over a defined period. Restoration targets cover how quickly faults are recovered. Support hours, exclusions and credits are separate terms.

Does a second carrier guarantee physical diversity?

No. Different carriers can still share ducts, exchanges, building entries, power or upstream infrastructure. Validate the path and document residual risk where possible.

Can you connect remote project sites?

We can assess fixed, mobile, fixed-wireless and satellite pathways and design around local constraints. The design must account for construction, power, weather, mobility and temporary-site requirements.

How long does enterprise connectivity take to install?

It varies widely, depending on product, address, build requirements, permits, carrier capacity and your readiness. We confirm an indicative range only after qualification, and a fixed date only once the carrier accepts the order.

Network assessment

Begin with a site and application assessment

Send us your site addresses, required bandwidth, critical applications, current services, renewal dates, resilience needs and target dates. We’ll qualify the options and tell you where deeper design work is needed.

For each site, helpful to have ready

  • Address and site type
  • Users and required capacity
  • Critical applications
  • Current service and renewal date
  • Outage tolerance and any mandatory standard

Information provided is used for qualification and design. It does not confirm serviceability or a contractual service level.
